Cam Paine
Date Began Martial Arts: 1988
Cam is the head instructor at the Inverell Black Dragon Kai Brazilian Jiu Jitsu club. Cam started training in BDK Jiu Jitsu under the club founder Nick King and has continued this legacy on stepping into the role of head instructor.
Cam is passionate about his classes and his students and volunteered at the club for many years before taking on this role. Combining his knowledge of BJJ, Judo, other martial arts and his career as a Police Officer, Cam is focussed on teaching the most practical techniques and tactics for grappling and self defence.
As a kid Cam competed in Judo all the way through to adulthood where he continued to compete, and has vast experience. He also played a tonne of Rugby. At 23 he joined the Police Force and spent 22 years working around the State. He also spent time as a part time Tactical Operator and then as a Negotiator. He has also dabbled in Boxing, Muay Thai and Full Contact Karate over the years.
It is this expertise that makes Cam an extremely knowledgeable coach, but what sets him aside is his dedication to his students at BDK Inverell.
